K Books – The Early Years

In 1964 we went to a farm sale to buy pigs and came back as fledgling second hand book dealers – but that is another story… (see our book ‘Tales of Our Book Dealing Life’).

After a year I gave up a well-paid job and together with my wife Sue we set up K Books selling second hand books by mail order.

We produced lists on a hand operated spirit duplicator and then progressed to more prestigious catalogues with coloured illustrations and increased our stock from a hundred books to an inventory of over 100,000 items.

Now after 56 years we are dragging ourselves into the 20^th – or is it the 21^st century by having a web site and communicating by Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – whatever these things mean? So we are fledglings again and WE NEED YOUR HELP, SYMPATHY, ADVICE AND SUPPORT.
